Rakennustempo focuses on quality
The growing and developing operations of Rakennustempo call for an ever more efficient and transparent supply chain. As a partner for their development program, the company chose Roima’s seasoned professionals and time-tested solutions.
Based in Joensuu, Finland, Rakennustempo is an important subcontractor and contract manufacturer for the global mechanical engineering industry. The company has special expertise in tank production for the mechanical and automotive industry as well as in the surface treatment of components.
The company’s growing and developing operations place great demands for the entire supply chain. That is why Rakennustempo is now investing in improving the efficiency and transparency of its supply chain. The development program also supports the company’s ongoing ISO9001 quality system implementation project and the related quality documentation.
Paperless production as the goal
As a partner for the development journey, the company’s CEO Timo Päivänurmi chose Roima’s experienced professionals and time-tested solutions. Rakennustempo will receive new tools for product management and enterprise resource planning: RoimaSoftware Aton and RoimaSoftware Lean System.
Efficient product management is the prerequisite for smooth operations at the front end of the supply chain. Streamlining continues across the factory all the way to the shop floor: with the help of manufacturing execution (MES) views, we can achieve a paperless shop floor.

40-year milestone reached
The strategy of Rakennustempo has been to decentralize business areas to different sectors. At the moment, the company has three product lines: JOONAS berry harvesters and accessories, and contract manufacturing for the mechanical engineering industry.
Rakennustempo has a great history, and last year, the company celebrated its 40th anniversary. The first JOONAS berry harvesters were delivered to customers right after the company’s first year of operation in 1979, and export trade to Norway started the following year. Since that year, different kinds of berry harvesters have been delivered to 30 countries around the world.
