The very first Roima Customer Day organized on 8 November was received with great enthusiasm. The Conference Hall of Helsinki Expo and Convention Center was nice and full, as a 300-headed crowd gathered together to learn about Roima’s offering and make acquaintance with each other.
All Roima’s business units have a long history behind them, including decades of fruitful cooperation with our customer companies. Therefore, it was high time to gather Roima’s extensive customer base together under the same roof and offer them an overall view of what Roima is today and how we can serve our customers.
The day was opened by our own CEO Jukka Ropponen who talked about Roima’s vision and mission; how Roima is doing everything in its power to ensure that the European industry will remain viable and provide work and wellbeing for people also in the future. Industrial manufacturing is going to need ever more automation and robotics, which will make the work of humans more meaningful. The efficiency increase achieved this way will bring jobs back to Europe.
Growth requires the breaking of boundaries!
In the keynote speech, the floor was taken by Riku Rantala and Tunna Milonoff, better known as the Madventures duo. They encouraged all of us to step outside our own comfort zone, as only there will you find growth, and only there will excitement open up new frontiers.
After the presentation, there was an excellent opportunity to gather new experiences, as the table was set with crispy roasted, locally-grown insects seasoned with chili – yummy!
Some of the guests had eaten insects before, but many got the opportunity to take a tasty step outside their comfort zone and let themselves be positively surprised!
An amazing amount of expertise
During the day, our Roima competence became concrete in the various presentations given by our experienced professionals. A total of 20 professionals specialized in different business fields shared their ideas on how companies can develop their operations from planning to manufacturing and internal logistics as well as improve the quality of their products throughout the entire product lifecycle.
In addition to these lectures, the guests had the chance to explore interactive Production and Service business areas presenting intriguing topics, such as paperless production, resource and material planning, and service manager’s tools.
Customers that we can be proud of
An important part of the Customer Day were the speeches given by our trusted customer companies. Both in the main hall and in the various program tracks held in the afternoon, we heard around 20 case presentations given by our customers Vaisala, Fastems, BMH Technology, Suomen Transval, Cencorp Automation, Valmet Automation, Sandvik, Planmeca, Herrmanns/Nordic Lights, Valmet Automotive, and HKScan.
They told about the cooperation with us, an how Roima’s solutions support their business and goals in practice. The presentations sparked many ideas and thoughts, and therefore, the discussions continued in the evening in Winter Garden with good food and company, offering a great opportunity for networking.
During the evening, it was also possible to learn more about Roima’s products. A special treat was the Roima Casino game which was previously at the Teknologia’17 technology trade fair; in this game-like demo, a camera application was used to automatically count the values of dice after they are rolled into view of a camera, and the results were automatically reported both to the demo screen and to cloud. The best results in the game of dices were rewarded with a ice hockey ticket to a HIFK game.
As the host of the event, were pleased to welcome an experienced professional in event organization: Leena Räsänen of Management Events. Leena firmly kept the threads in her hands throughout the day with amazing energy and positiveness.
The planning of Roima Customer Day 2018 has already started. We are collecting feedback on this year’s event , and next year, we can together experience the new Roima Experience with a great crowd, sharing ideas on our common cause!
