ROIMA demolishes office silos
Summer is a busy time, even at the office. At the beginning of the summer we had a work party clean up the office of any accumulated relics and other unwanted stuff. At the same time we reorganized the desks in a new order.
At about the same time we reached a consensus in the debate over ”Suitable Team Sizes for ROIMA”. In the past projects varying in size and duration have posed a challenge. A rigid team model just didn’t work.
ROIMA Teams are built according to customer needs.
Now the situation has been remedied in a simple but elegant way – teams are formed to suit a project. The most suitable experts are assigned to each project team. Enter the Flexible ROIMA Team.
At the work party all the workstations were organized so that changing stations would be easy. When a new team is formed a suitable area at the office is designated to them and all team members move to this area.
No use putting up your own curtains, your place might change, says ROIMA’s Managing Director Jukka Ropponen
In our new system the advantages of the old rigid system and the new flexible on are combined. Everyone has a workstation to call their own and store their stuff, though this station can change according to different projects.
These changes were not limited to the work areas. Our coffee room and sofas were also reorganized. The sofas have been tuned into the recreational mode at our library corner. At the library you’ll find such bestselling thrillers as Martin Fowler’s “Refactoring” and Robert C. Martini’s “Clean Code”.
