The Roima entity serves customers and delivers results
Roima’s first steps were taken in 2014. At the same time, an “umbrella brand” was created, under which we started to systematically piece together a comprehensive technology and service entity – an entity which until then had been missing from Finland and which our customers had a true need for. Roima’s extensive offering has been assembled in accordance with a careful analysis based on the ISA-95 standard and with the feedback and wishes of our customers.
The purpose of compiling our offering under one brand was to facilitate the lives of our customers by offering them a single supplier from whom they could get the answer to the majority of their functional development needs as well as the supporting systems, instead of having to purchase every service and system from different suppliers.
Now it’s almost four years since we, together with Korona Invest, set out to build Roima towards that vision. Thus, it’s time to take a closer look at how this vision has been fulfilled and what kind of results we have achieved.
Target-oriented growth with a great team
Our first milestone target in terms of company growth was to reach 10 million euros in revenue and over 100 employees in employee headcount. Those targets we surpassed ahead of schedule. In fall 2016, we announced our new goal: during the next 2.5 years, we would increase our revenue to over 20 million euros, which translates into a headcount of over 200 employees. In the quest of achieving these targets, we are well on schedule – even a little ahead.

How has this been possible? Quite simply, Roima was able to create an entity for which there has been great demand in the market and among our customers. Creating this entity would not have been possible without our excellent staff and their great commitment to boosting, supporting and developing the business of our customer companies. Another key factor are our great customers, who have invested in their competitiveness and proved our mission “Europe will not become a manufacturing museum” to be viable and motivational.

Customer first
Every Roima employee knows that whatever work they do – projects for our customers – the outcome of that work must be a better result on the customer’s “bottom line”. That is why we are the ROI Machine!
What do our figures look like now, when our 2014 revenue was a little under 3 million euros and the result started with a minus sign? Last year, in 2017, our revenue increased to a fine result of 17.7 million euros, with our EBITDA result exceeding 3 million euros. The net operating profit and the profit for the financial year shown in public sources are much lower than that, as they include the big accounting-related amortizations of goodwill due to company mergers.
The start of the current year has also been great and very busy, so we are well underway to exceed the great revenue of 20 million euros in 2018!
Serious work – but through joy!
In the video below, the retired Finnish ice hockey player and post-player coach Juhani Tamminen shares his views on Roima’s first steps and examines the situation at the end of November 2017 during his visit at Roima’s main office in Espoo. Though we have to say that the numbers quoted by Tami is not quite the truth – the numbers grew even bigger during the last part of the year!
