Roima Intelligence Inc. will supply Atria Oyj with the components and deployment of their operative manufacturing control and tracking system (MESSI).

The system will play a central role in the efficient control of material flows at Atria Finland’s different production facilities. The system will enable tracking products from their origin at farms to consumers who will see the information printed on the packing.

The software supplied by Roima will control floor level operative functions of the production facilities and collect the necessary tracking and reporting information.

The system supplied by Roima logs all the material and controls the material flows across all production units, thus ensuring solid tracking throughout the production chain. The chain includes all stages of the process from manufacturing and scheduling, quality control at various stages, all the way to warehouse control. The software is to be used at the Kauhajoki bovine slaughterhouse, Nurmo food production, pig cutting and palleting facilities. The system will control the production and material flows of ready-made foods, meat processing products and fresh meat as well as the operation of the packaging plant and warehouse. Roima will also offer Atria a full set of lifecycle services which will ensure the high availability and future development of Atria’s production.

Atria’s production system comprises of their existing ERP system and the FidaWare system supplied by Roima. The integration will proceed in stages so that the new system will be operational by the end of 2020 at all of Atria’s production facilities. The timetable depends on the schedule of Atria’s new pig cutting plant at Nurmo. Previously Roima has supplied the production control system of the slaughterhouse at Kauhajoki. The main phase of systems deployment will be done with the Nurmo food factory.

All the user interfaces of the system have been optimized for each stage and task of the production process. These will ensure that the right information will be available at the right place and time to support the workers. This will improve production efficiency by reducing spoilage, ensuring seamless material tracking, shorten the lead times and enable quick response to possible anomalies in the production.
