Salhydro focuses on good customer service
Salhydro Oy is an importer and distributor of large variety of hydraulics, pneumatics, technical hoses, fittings, and other industrial equipment in Finland. The company sells its products through its country-wide dealer network as well as through its own stores and its own Hydromarket chain.
Salhydro has been on a stable growth path for several years. Today, the family-owned company is run by the brothers Marko, Mika and Juha Salminen who continue the work started by their father. Salhydro is currently building a new main office, pick-up store, and central warehouse in the Ilvesvuori industrial area in Nurmijärvi, Finland, expected to be completed in September 2020.
The spatial capacity provided by the new central warehouse enables us to grow our business to the next level. Good customer service and fast deliveries are a matter of honor to us. Efficient warehouse management will play a key in expanding our operations, and as we realized this, we launched a project to improve our intralogistics processes.

Juha Salminen, who is responsible for the business development of Salhydro, was tasked with mapping potential partners for developing the company’s intralogistics.
Roima’s Key Account Manager Arto Pellonpää remembers well his first phone call with Juha: “Juha asked me to come over and tell about warehouse management in a down-to-earth way – I guess that other candidates had been a bit too abstract and high-sounding”, reminisces Arto. “The first discussions took place last summer, and last month, in January, we had the pleasure of signing the deal.”


In addition to an experienced intralogistics partner, Salhydro needed an effective and efficient warehouse management system (WMS), preferably run on its own server and with reasonable overall procurement costs. The features of RoimaSoftware FidaWare solution convinced Salhydro, particularly the fact that the system is installed as an on-premise solution.

Salhydro is an over 30-year-old independent family-owned business. The new premises in Nurmijärvi will be completed in September 2020 and will initially employ around 50 people. In 2019, the revenue of Salhydro and Hydromarket amounted to approximately MEUR 22.
