Metsä Fibre and Roima Intelligence have signed a contract regarding the new Rauma sawmill
Metsä Fibre selected Roima as the SCADA system supplier.


Member of Metsä Group, Metsä Fibre, is building a new pine sawmill in Rauma, Finland. The value of the investment is approximately EUR 200 million and the planned annual production will be about 750,000 cubic meters of pine sawn timber. In terms of technology and efficiency, the sawmill will be a pioneer in the world. Construction was started in the spring of 2020, and production is set to begin during the third quarter of 2022.
Roima Intelligence is proud to be part of the Rauma sawmill project by delivering a centralized monitor and control (SCADA) system to the new sawmill. The SCADA System enables efficient operation of the sawmill. The SCADA is based on the new AVEVA Intouch OMI technology platform. The platform will enable modern videowalls and mobile applications.
